Wow! What an exciting end to the year for the Wentworth Flippaball and Waterpolo teams.
The Years 3/4 team has gone from strength to strength and finished the year with a comfortable win (8:1) against the Snappers to emerge the winners of their league. Congratulations, Marlins!
Players: Connor Brabant, Brooke Oliver, Ella Nathan, James Nathan, Amy Akehurst, Kahn Heath, Sienna Phillipps, Atia Houseman
The Years 5/6 Warriors had a tough game against the Swordfish and, at the start of the second half, were down 6:2. However, with strength and tenacity, they pulled the match back to finish 6:6 at full time. This forced the game into extra time, with the winner determined by a golden goal. As the Wentworth team pushed forward again, they managed to get the ball to Bridie, who pushed it into the back of the net and our Warriors emerged the winners of their league. Well done, Warriors!
Players: Bridie Smith, Rory Brabant, Amelie Che, Liam Phillipps, Ben Oliver, Joely Jones, Charlotte Sancto-Jones, Jahn Komorowski and Rosie Roberts.
The Years 7/8 team, some of whom only started playing six weeks ago, faced Rosmini in the final game of their season. With slick passing and excellent positioning, the Threshers took command of the game and were relentless in their domination of the opposition. They finished victorious with a magnificent score of 11:4 and were just nudged into third place overall in their league on goal difference. Fabulous work, Threshers!
Players: Poppy Sancto-Jones, Matthew Brabant, Orion Houseman, Liberty Jones, Aiden, Chris Oliver, Joely Jones, Charlotte Sancto-Jones, Rory Brabant, Bridie Smith.
